Fighter's Bark
I’m out here smiling but hurting
Everyday I wonder what you’re doing
But I can’t reach you, you’re aching
So what I can do, I keep writing
About you, me, about us as if we were existing
When it’s gone, I forgot it was exhausting
Loving you was a game of compromising
Being with you was self-strengthening
The time with you felt very enlightening
Your presence to me was so fulfilling
I mean, that’s exactly the part that’s breaking
When you decided to go and I kept on barking
Hoping and hoping that you’ll hear something
What I really feel, what I’m perceiving
How I’m not done yet trying, slowly dying
But I guess I’m the only fighter remaining
